Dawn at Lake Mountain

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

snow fort my daughter built as the delightfully fluffy snowflakes fell constantly upon our noses and lashes

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Mork Hot Chocolate

Before the ceramics class with Chela on Wednesday night, I stopped by Mork Chocolate for a wonderfully savoury hot chocolate.  I chose dark chocolate with river salt, so comforting in the tummy after a freezing cold day at work.  I couldn’t resist taking some home …

Whilst I love the idea of hot chocolate, I don’t usually enjoy the milky sweetness.  However this hot chocolate is SO GOOD!  Bitter, deep and utterly delicious.  Next time I’ll sit inside the beautiful 1950s building and have the Campfire Chocolate, infused with smokiness and served with a flamed marshmallow on a stick.

An evening with Chela

One of the best ways to spend a Wintry evening is with the Guild of Objects, crafting beautiful (in  my case, rather wonky) vessels.  Chela of takeawei welcomed the 8 of us with glasses of white wine and lemongrass ginger tea steaming in gorgeous handcrafted cups.

We go back in a fortnight to collect our fired vessels, can’t wait to return.

Hope there weren’t any air bubbles in any of my pieces…apparently it explodes the vessel and destroys everything else along with it!
